Rachel’s role: I’m responsible for coordinating the Foundation’s grantmaking activity including administering grant cycles, processes, applications and agreements, and reporting for internal and external clients. My role provides technical support to grantors, grantees, and applicants as well as the Foundation team and committee members.
What brought Rachel to the Foundation: I came to the Foundation as a Community Impact intern, focusing on administration and policy practice. I was instantly impressed by the justice-oriented and community-focused lens that the Foundation uses in all of its grantmaking and processes, and quickly knew I wanted to remain a part of it! I am exceedingly grateful to be utilizing both my clinical and macro Social Work skills to contribute to an incredibly competent team that moves the needle everyday towards a more equitable philanthropy landscape.
What Rachel did before: I received my Bachelors in Spanish Language and Literature in Buffalo, NY where I’m from. In 2020, I moved to Austin where I worked for various nonprofits focused on border justice advocacy and providing resources to migrants and refugees settling in Central Texas. I went on to get my Master’s in Social Work from UT, which lead me directly to the Foundation!
Rachel’s favorite things to do in Central Texas: Outside of work, I love to run, rock climb, play video games, read, and above all, spend time doing anything fun with my partner, cats, and amazing friends!
