Misty’s role: My job is to share the unique stories of Austin Community Foundation with a range of audiences across Central Texas. I’m responsible for internal and external communications, digital media, branding and marketing of key programs. I also serve as the primary media contact for the Foundation.
What Misty likes most about working at the Foundation: I was drawn to the Foundation because of its commitment to making my hometown a better place for everyone. I value being able to tell the stories of generosity and impact in our community and inspiring others to give back.
What Misty did before: Prior to joining the Foundation, I worked at Elizabeth Christian Public Relations where I provided PR services for clients such as St. David’s HealthCare, Downtown Austin Alliance and United Way for Greater Austin. Previously, I’ve worked in communications roles at the Thinkery children’s museum, Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and the Texas Comptroller’s Office. I started my career as a news producer for News 8 Austin (now known as Spectrum News) after earning a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Texas State University.
Misty’s favorite thing to do in Central Texas: I treasure the beautiful green spaces in our region, and I love spending time outdoors with my husband, two kids and our rescue dog. You may find us at Zilker Park, the San Marcos River or camping in the hill country.
