Chelsie’s role: My role is to oversee a portfolio of funds with complex needs while striving to support fundholders in meeting their philanthropic goals. I serve as a primary point of contact for individual donors, funder collaboratives, community coalitions, and nonprofit agencies associated with the portfolio. I also ensure efficient execution of routine operations such as donations, grants, accounts payable, and reporting for the portfolio.
What brought Chelsie to the Foundation: Growing up in a small Texas town, the value of community was always clear to me. I was drawn to the Foundation because it connects individuals to make a collective impact where they live, on issues that matter to them. Additionally, as a Latina woman and first-generation college graduate, I appreciate the Foundation’s commitment to championing causes that resonate with my personal experiences and values.
What Chelsie did before: Previously, I was the Senior Development Coordinator at the American Heart Association where I helped support the Executive Director and Board of Directors, along with finance and operations support. I hold a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin in Human Development and Family Sciences, a minor in Social Work, and a Certificate in Business Spanish. Hook’Em!
Chelsie’s favorite things to do in Central Texas: I am the new owner of a dachshund puppy, and spend lots of time exploring trails and dog friendly spots in Austin with him. I’m a major foodie and enjoy trying new restaurants, making fun recipes, and hosting dinner parties with friends.
